HOW DOES THE WATER MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
RESISTANCE- Water is a thicker medium than air. The resistance of the water can range from 4 to 44 times that of air. Using the resistance is like using weights or machines on land, only safer.
BUOYANCY- In chest deep water, approx. 90% of your body weight is buoyant, therefore you are only bearing 10% of your weight when you exercise. This makes it much safer on the joints and muscles.
COOLING EFFECT- Because of your constant movement, cool water is continually moving around you, washing away sweat, and cooling your body. This eliminates the risk of becoming overheated.
MASSAGING EFFECT- The pressure of the water on your body, joints, muscles, and internal organs both massages and comforts you while exercising. This eliminates the risk of fatigue.
