Lighten Up Participants Lost Over 1,298 Pounds

Wasted Away lost a total of 138.7 pounds -- 17.07% of their starting weight -- to place first in the second annual Lighten Up 4 Montgomery County competition.
Team members Jaimann and Stephanie Ellis, Jackie Adams and Shawn Perkins were presented $400 during the Lighten Up wrap-up event on Wednesday.
Second place and $200 went to Flab-U-Less team members Amy Rupert, Mona Elam, Brenda Cobetto and JoBeth Elam.
Misfats placed third to win $100 for Melissa Durbin, Shelby White, Laurie and Cameron Fields.
The top Individual entrant was Martha Johnson, who lost 25 pounds, or 11.16%.
Lighten Up coordinator Tara Grant said the 38 teams and 20 individuals who completed the 4-month challenge reported a total weight loss of 1298.5 pounds.
