This isn’t another fad diet or weight loss program (we’ve all tried those) –

it’s a group where women support other women in their fitness journeys.

This group is intended to be a place where women can share their motivations and struggles and look for tips on how to live their healthiest life.  It’s a place where you can ask questions and look for suggestions – whether it’s what exercises to try, which healthy snacks to buy, or which type of leggings are best for your workout. 

Every woman in this group is going to have their own fitness goals.  Most of us will likely have the goal to lose weight – but let’s think about those non-scale related goals that so many of us also have.  Do you want to run a 5k?  Hike a mountain? Do you want to have more energy to play with your kids or grandkids? Not run out of breath when you take the dog for a walk?  Do you want to fit into your favorite jeans from 5 years ago?  There’s so much more to fitness than just weight loss, and G.A.L. is designed to be a place where you can identify your fitness goals, find motivation, and have fun while doing it!

G.A.L. is a Hybrid Online & In-Class Group

What does this mean? Everyone that joins will be added to a private Facebook group.  Anything that is posted in this group will not be available to the public and will only be able to be seen within the private group.

 Don’t have Facebook? Don’t worry! We will share all of the same information at our weekly meetings.  You will also have the option to sign up for emails and/or text alerts that will get you the information that you need. 



The online Facebook group is intended to be a constant open forum – women can share what they are proud of, ask for suggestions, offer tips, and more at any time. 

  • Sunday – Weekly Calendar: see what is going on each week (bonus point opportunities, 5k theme, challenges, etc.)

  • Monday – Motivation: Who couldn’t use a little extra motivation on Monday?  Look for motivation in the group on Monday, and share what motivates you!

  • Tuesday – Workout of the Day: An optional workout will be posted for you to do at home or at Fusion!  Get points for participating.

  • Wednesday – Healthy Recipe: Look out for healthy meal ideas.  Fusion will post one every Wednesday, but you are encouraged to share your own as well.  Try one out & share what you thought at & receive points!

  • Thursday – Workout of the Day: same as above, just a new workout

  • Friday – Themed 5k: Don’t freak out! Just like everything else, participating in the 5k is optional.  Walk, run, bike, swim, or do a combo of them to reach 3.1 miles.  This is a challenge that you do on your own time on Friday, wherever you want.  Fusion has treadmills, stationary bikes, a pool, and a track where you can come to do your miles or you can do them at home, or wherever you choose!  Post a photo once you have completed it and earn points!

  • Saturday – Healthy snack recipe: Weekends are tough!  Try the healthy snack ideas and share your favorites that help you make it through the weekend. 


In Class

Optional meetings will be held twice a week on Tuesdays at 5:30 pm and Thursdays at 9 am.  Each week, there will be a topic to start discussions, but just like online, it will be an open forum.  We will talk about our struggles, our victories, and what motivates us.

Cooking & Substitutions

Grocery Shopping/Meal Planning


Diet Soda vs Regular Soda

Different types of Sweeteners



Point System

To help instill a sense of accountability for yourself, we have organized a point system that rewards points for your participation in the group. 

Each person will have a goal to earn 800 points over the course of the 8 weeks.  This breaks down to 100 points per week, but they do not have to be earned that way.  For example, if you are going on vacation and aren’t able to reach 100 points that week, make up for it in the weeks before and after. 

Tracking your points is optional, but research shows that tracking your healthy habits leads to higher success, so we greatly encourage everyone to at least try. 

At the end of the 8 weeks, everyone that reached 800 points will be entered in a drawing to win a 1-month membership at Fusion (if you’re already a member, you will get an additional month for free should you win the drawing). 

When you signed up, you should have received a notebook that you can use to help keep track of your points.  You can also use it to take notes as you please.  If you choose not to track your points in your notebook, no problem!  Feel free to use your phone or any other method for tracking.  Whatever is best for you.

Participate in weekly themed “Friday 5k” & share a photo

Working out @ Fusion for 30 minutes

Attend a meeting

20 points

Attend a Group X Class


Each week, there will be new opportunities to earn bonus points.
